About LG Energy Solution
The branch LG Energy Solution, previously known as LG Chem founded in 1947, used its technological know-how and high production capacity, to become one of the leaders in the market for energy storage systems (ESS). The expertise developed in the production phase, together with an owned technology, allow LG Energy Solutions to produce batteries with high-capacity level and high energy output, a long life cycle, and a stable structure.
LG Energy Solutions meets the needs of different customers by developing both high-power products suitable for the public grid and products for domestic use, that can fulfill different needs, always assuring a high level of quality and resistance. By using polymeric battery cells, ultra-thin and with high capacity, LG developed storage systems with products that maximize the space use and require a minimum installation area, thus reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
Domesic batteries
The storage solutions supplied by LG Energy Solution, provide products that are optimized for domestic use with lithium technology and allow for better exploit the energy produced by the PV plant, thus increasing energy self-sufficiency and reducing the cost of energy supply. The products for domestic use are realized with the brand RESU.

Lamination & stacking process
LG Energy Solution patented a process of lamination and Stacking to produce its batteries. This technique piles vertically cathodes, anodes and separators to build a battery, with many advantages compared to the classic winding method.
- High-loading electrode structure
The structure obtained with this method allows a higher loading electrode structure thanks to more efficient use of space and improved dimension stability.
-
Higher internal capacity
The process eliminates the empty spaces between different cells, using more efficiently the whole available volume and increasing the overall capacity of the battery, compared with the traditional method.
-
Longer life-cycle
The structure resulting from this method allows having a higher dimensional stability of the cells that, after hundreds of cycles do not warp and assure a longer life-cycle compared to the winding method.
RESU monitoring
The status of the ReSU battery can be easily and quickly monitored through the app RESU Monitor, both by installers and final users.
The system, equipped with a Web and App user interface, assures the possibility to monitor in real-time the battery status and making a predictive analysis. RESU Monitor can make remote detections, and, in case of anomalies, it enables the installers to take quick and precise corrective actions.
